Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was a college hurdler at Texas A&M, so sport and fitness have always been in my blood. After college, I grew out of shape and found CrossFit because one had opened very near my house. I stumbled in and was super intimidated and signed up because why not. CrossFit owned me for 6 months, but once I became consistent, I became decent at it.

Why did you become a trainer?

CrossFit helped me get through a rough patch in my life, and I wanted to help others better themselves. Plus, I really liked being around it too. After almost 7 years of doing this, I feel my purpose in life is to teach people physical skills that will make them better people, for life. I teach 8 year olds how to move around and I truly feel that this is what I was born to do. I get immense joy from watching someone do things they never thought possible. It is truly cathartic for me and I am blessed to have founded 210 Crossfit.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Nothing is cheating, unless you go overboard. But when I do go too hard with the macros, I choose sushi rolls and ice cream. And I don’t eat until I am full, I eat until I hate myself.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Superman, because I grew up wanting to be Clark Kent. I literally had the t shirt on and used to wear a jacket all the time and rip it open, pretending I was Superman. This usually happened during recess in Kindergarten and 1st grade. I am sure the teachers thought I was

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I had always been in sports but fitness was a passion I found long after the swim meets and volleyball tournaments ended. When I discovered how weight training combined with cardio could transform my physique, I was hooked! After the birth of my son, Jedi, I became complacent and knew I needed a change. I didn’t look for CrossFit it actually found me and I haven’t looked back since … 2009 to be exact. It drives me to excel in all areas of my life When you feel good, you do good. Simple but true!
